Names- Spud Bounty and Garnet Star

Title is inspired by the slogan found on Idaho’s tourism page- Idaho: Adventures in Living

Anyway, I knew doing this state, one would be easy, but the other might be a challenge and that was the case. Obviously the state relies a lot on its agriculture and natural resources so that’s what ended up happening here.

Spud Bounty- Coming up with the concept here was easy peasy since potatoes is the first thing people think of when they think of this state. The name proved to be the hard part. Spud’s color scheme comes from different types of potatoes and his mane style I wanted it to be round like his name sake. I did enjoy the creating extra color around the legs and muzzle.

Garnet Star- I wanted to do another slim design, similar to that of Arkansas’ mare. Idaho is known as the Gem State and its state stone is that of the Star Garnet which is mostly a deep red with a white star shape in the middle surrounded by a black outline. It’s a very pretty stone too. It was fun creating Garnet’s design because I wanted to try a short mane and tail style and she’s pretty slick.

So I hope Idahoans like the two and we’ll be staying in the I’s for the next few drawings.
