I did this as a gift recently for one of my patrons who is in a rough place and contacted me while contemplating suicide.  I didn’t know what to do besides offering encouraging and understanding words, and I am not good with words, so I drew this for them as the first thing that I could think of, as they love twiluna.  It feels a bit much to say, far more credit than I feel able to give myself, but this drawing may have helped to save a life….

They said it was okay to share it publicly, so here it is.  Dedicated to all those who are in, or have had, dark times, and to those who have lost people to suicide.

I struggle with depression myself, and although I’ve never been close to acting on the impulses, suicidal ideations are a common thing, and intrusive thoughts of self-harm a constant companion.  

The smol bat is Pterus, an OC of Silfoe, and the pic is somewhat influenced by one of her drawings as well.  ( royalsketchbook.tumblr.com/pos… ) (I was already working with the phrase ‘it gets better’ in mind and naturally thought of that drawing while in the midst of this.)
