Description:
A strange but kinda fun ship.
Spitfire and Zephyr didn’t get along at first but quickly grew to like one another once they accepted each others quirks and flaws (cough-zephyr-cough). Rainbow doesn’t get it but doesn’t care as long as the dweeb leaves her alone and Fluttershy is happy to see her baby brother because a bit more of an adult.
1: Zephyr and Spitfire met through Rainbow. To create a better image of the Wonderbolts (Who I see as a military outfit) and encourage volunteers, Spitfire proposed that members pair up with a civilian of their choice (preferably a Pegasus to save on safety and magic) to go through some exercises. Rainbow had few choices. Scoots was too young, Twilight was a dignitary and Flutters was only good at flying when animals were involved. Her remaining choice was Zephyr, who was totally not super jelly that Rainbow, his long time crush, was hanging out with a Earth pony of all things. He tried to use this as a chance to seduce the mare. Spitfire was not thrilled about her choice.
Note: I headcanon that Pegasi are generally the the shortest of the three races and hence why Zephyr, who is taller than most, is considered attractive. When he learned this, his arrogance skyrocketed, making him unbearable to those who didn’t see his height as attractive enough to ignore his words. Spitfire, who is small even for a mare, was one of those ponies.
2: Spitfire got tired of his shit fast, deciding to deal with him on her own. He even dared to call her sweet cheeks and call her training ‘a nice warm up’. Zephyr had been chasing Rainbow for years so he thought Spitfire’s training wouldn’t be as hard. Oh, was he wrong. Rainbow had tried to warn him but he chose to press that button and was booted off clouds constantly.
3: During their breaks, Spitfire and Zephyr would talk, mostly him boasting about himself. SF found it amusing and just mocked him about his exaggerations. While his pride might have been stung, he did like seeing her laugh so he kept going, telling stories about himself when he was a foal, his failed attempts at wooing Dash and being chastised by his usually shy older sister. Spitfire, not used to being treated like a mare (since she was an authority figure) relaxed and told him about herself, telling amusing stories about her getting stuck in clouds and trying to eat lightening.
4: Zephyr, despite being an arrogant little shit, loves his job as a hair dresser. He generally tries to make it about himself but when he’s focused, his main goal is to make the pony he’s working on beautiful. Spitfire, needing to go to a social function, asked Zephyr to help with her mane. She was shocked by how focused and serious he became when he worked, asking her opinions with a gentle voice. Her heart totally wasn’t racing then!
5: Zephyr is a weak flier, as he was lazy by nature. However, he always had a thing for athletes and tried to keep up with Spitfire. He never succeed but there were perks to always falling behind a mare with such fine… assets
SF: Hey, Zeph!? You wanna fly with me?
Z: Ugh, that sounds like a lot offf~ Uh… (drool)
SF: You doing okay back there?
Z: Everything is awesome back here~
6: Zephyr and Spitfires daughter, who is currently nameless. Zeph is a bit of a hipster so I’ll call her Molly for now. Moll’s here takes after her mother, striving to be like her mom. She is dedicated and firm, very much unlike her generally lazy dad. Zeph is always encouraging her to take a chill pill since she takes everything super seriously. She is very competitive and feels a crush/resentment toward Tranquil Spring (Rainbow’s son) since he is a talented flier who prefers writing to flying.
Fact:
Despite it being a hassle, she keeps her mane long cause her favorite activity is letting her dad do her mane. Molly is generally super Tsundere about it but she’s a major daddys girl. If asked though, she will punch your teeth in.
