DO
- Most people don’t realize this, but genetics can be passed down from ancestors. You don’t need to give a Flashlight child the EXACT same colours as the parents, be creative! Mix the orange and purple, heck, even blend some of Night Light’s colours or Twilight Velvet’s.. Make it different, stand out!
- The colours actually work together unlike the purple and orange. They’re subtle and don’t make your eyes bleed.
- The left one isn’t the “pinkie little perfect princess”, she has scars and bandages to show that she isn’t afraid to fight for whatever she believes in.
- There are various types of jewellery, not just crowns and tiaras. Earrings and necklaces can be subtle ways to show that a pony is royalty or has ties to the princesses. You don’t need a recoloured crown to show somepony’s status.
DON’T
- Yes, the hair on the one on the right is OK, but it is so OVERDONE. Don’t be afraid to give fanfoals their own style and don’t just make a recoloured Twilight or Flash..
- The random splotches of colour.. Neither of the parents have markings, why do people colour the hooves a completely different colour? It makes no sense, the pony should just be one colour, not two, three or four.
- Dear lord, the wings really annoy me. The whole wing is not meant to be another colour, only the tips.. It just looks strange, don’t you think? The one on the left is the perfect example of this.
- No colour mixing was involved with the purple one, it just looks like a Twilight with longer, dip dyed mane and random paint splatters.
