(Outside Spike and Ember’s cave)

Burge: “Okay Betty, remember what I told you?”

Bedlam: “Yes…don’t argue with your mom, no chaos magic, and don’t reveal my identity. We’ve gone over this a million times, Burge.”

Burge: “Yes, I know, but…my mom’s permanently grounded me from seeing you, but I have to keep you as my friend somehow. So I have to re-introduce you to my family as a dragon. You have to behave for this to work.”

Bedlam: “Okay Burge, I’ll try my best.” transforms into her dragon form

Burge: leads Bedlam into the cave “Mom! Dad! I’m home! I brought my friend for dinner!”

Spike: walks out wearing an apron and oven mitts “Great! Now you two can try the jewel cake I just made!”

Ember: “Spike, take that ridiculous outfit off. Dragons don’t do dress-up!”

Spike: “But-”

Burge: “Yeah Dad…no offense, but that outfit is kind of embarrassing.”

Spike: “But Rarity made it for me… Fine, only for you Burge.” takes apron off

Ember: “So who’s this friend you have, Burge? Let’s hope she’s better than that crazy Bedlam pony.”

Bedlam: about to say something

Burge: interrupts “Mom, this is…Blaze. She’s not from around here but I’m sure you’ll like her.”

Ember: “Uh…nice to meet you. awkwardly shakes Bedlam’s claw Who are your parents? I’m sure I know them, since I’m the dragon lord.”

Bedlam: (Thinking: “Buck, I haven’t come up with a story for that…”) sweats “My parents are…dead! Yeah…”

Burge: “Yeah! Her mom died of a disease and her dad killed himself out of heartbreak.”

Bedlam: (Thinking: “Thanks, Burge. That was close.”)

Spike: “Oh, really? We’ll take you in! Come have some jewel cake with us.”

Bedlam: “Actually, I brought some jewels for us already. There aren’t many but I tried to help.” takes out some gems

Spike: drools at the sight of the gems

Ember: “Hm. Impressive.”

(The dragons eat dinner around a stone table)

Spike: “So, how did you guys meet?”

Burge: “Well, she was being attacked by a group of other dragons and I defended her and chased them away.”

Bedlam: (Thinking: “There’s her perfectly-rehearsed speech.”)

Ember: “Burge, speaking of defense, you have dragon warrior training tomorrow.”

Burge: “Moooom, I don’t want to. You know I don’t enjoy fighting.”

Ember: “No buts, young whelp! You are the dragon princess and you will fulfill your duties by learning to fight and protect your subjects! Geez, your father and those ponies have softened you up…”

Spike: “Hey!”

Bedlam: “Listen here, lady. Just because you’re the dragon lord doesn’t mean you can control your kid’s life! If she doesn’t want to be a warrior, don’t make her! Also, I know you grounded her from me-I mean her best friend!”

Burge: “Oh shoot…shouldn’t have done that…”

Ember: “Are you questioning my authority as dragon lord and as a parent??”

Bedlam: “Maybe I am!”

(There is an awkward, tense silence as Bedlam and Ember glare at each other. Burge bites into a gem nervously as Spike’s gaze anxiously shifts between the two of them.)

Ember: “Burgeon Flare, escort your friend home and come straight back. You’re grounded.”

Burge: “Yes, mother…”

(Burge and Bedlam leave)

Ember: “Jeez, that dragon’s just as bad as Bedlam…”

Spike: “We didn’t even have any jewel cake…by the way, can I have the rest of these gems?”

Ember: “Go ahead.”

(Outside the cave)

Burge: “Betty, why did you do that? You blew it!”

Bedlam: “Sorry Burge, I…I just couldn’t help it. It’s in my blood…”

Burge: “But Betty, you also have kindness and tranquility in your blood. You need to learn to channel that when talking to my parents. It doesn’t matter now…it’s over and done with. I just…need some time to myself.”

Bedlam: “B-but Burge!”

Burge: “Goodnight, Bedlam…” disappears into the cave

Bedlam: “Oh shoot…I really bucked up this time…”
