Description:
After the Hearts and Hooves day in which they fell under a love potion, Cheerilee and Big Mac have been good friends. At first, they hung out just to playfully trick the Cutie Mark Crusaders into thinking they were still affected by the potion, but eventually, they formed a genuine friendship with each other.
Even though Big Mac was usually quiet, he felt Cheerilee was easygoing and approachable enough that he could talk to her. Cheerilee enjoyed Big Mac’s calm demeanor as a contrast to the active children she taught.
But Bug Mac was in love with Sugar Belle. Cheerilee was a great friend, but Sugar Belle was the mare of his dreams. She was beautiful, sweet, and radiant…everything he could want in a lover. They had been seeing each other for awhile and were glad to call each other theirs.
However, Big Mac’s heart wasn’t fully invested in Sugar Belle. He felt a strange attraction to Cheerilee, as if an unseen force was still pulling them together. Unbeknownst to him, Cheerilee was feeling the same way. Big Mac decided to follow his heart’s true desire, so he broke it off with Sugar Belle, vowing to remain friends. Sugar Belle was saddened by this, but she loved him enough to let him go. Big Mac and Cheerilee confessed their feelings to each other and entered a relationship.
After a few years of dating, Big Mac decided he wanted to make Cheerilee his wife. Of course, being the shy stallion he is, it took a lot of effort to work up the courage to propose. He even asked for advice from his sisters and granny. When he did work up the courage, he asked Cheerilee on a date to the same gazebo where they had the love potion incident, and that’s when he proposed. To his relief, she said yes.
Big Mac and Cheerilee had a simple wedding surrounded by friends and family, and they moved into a house together just a short distance from Sweet Apple Acres. After a few years of marriage, they had a son named Discovery. He was extremely quiet and spent much of his time reading and studying as he grew older. His parents were surprised when he was diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, but they vowed to love and support him as much as possible.
When Discovery was in preschool, his little sister, Honeycrisp, was born. Even as a baby, she was happier and more energetic than her brother. Big Mac and Cheerilee wondered how their quiet and reserved son would react to having a baby in the house, but surprisingly, he loved her. He became slightly more outgoing and even began to make a couple of friends because of her.
Big Mac and Cheerilee were happy with their family, but as time went on their relationship slowly lost the magic and passion they had felt all those years ago. After a night of bickering, they came to a sudden realization: they weren’t in love with each other anymore. Later they realized that the love potion took longer than expected to wear off; their love was never genuine.
Big Mac and Cheerilee called a divorce and went their separate ways, yet with shared custody of their kids and a lasting, platonic friendship. There were no hard feelings.
Now that Big Mac was single again, his thoughts traveled back to his first true love, Sugar Belle. What has she been doing all these years? He traveled to her village to see for himself and found her single, throwing herself into her work with occasional visits from her friends. Big Mac and Sugar Belle were overjoyed to meet again as their spark was reignited.
From then on, Big Mac and Sugar Belle picked up where they left off. In just over a year they were married and some time later they welcomed Somerset Sour Cider into the world. Indeed, they were a happy family.
Since then, Big Mac and Sugar Belle have lived happily with Somerset and Big Mac’s two kids who visit from time to time. Big Mac is still good friends with Cheerilee, but it is purely platonic. Both of their hearts belong to other ponies and they like it that way. Everything turned out well in the end and that’s all that matters!
