Description:

Okay, so me and a friend of mine were working on a piece for Starlight Day (since we’re both big fans of her.) And so, I decided to help by working on the background, and this is the idea for the background that I drew for the pic. After showing him this, he liked the idea, and this was going to be used as the background (or at least be based off of it.) I decided to keep it nice and simple, so I went with a night sky with stars and an open grass field. Given that her name is <ins>Starlight</ins>, I thought a constellation of her cutie mark would be fitting (not to mention the starlight in the night sky.) Unfortunately, due to some “complications”, the final image couldn’t be completed on time for Starlight Day. As such, I decided to upload the portion that I had drawn, since I wanted to at least do something to celebrate Starlight Day. However, be that as it may, I’m looking forward to when he finishes up the drawing (when he gets the chance, of course.) While I won’t spoil what’s going to be in the picture (besides Starlight Glimmer, obviously,) let’s just say, fellow Starlight fans are going to love it (I know I will!) With that said, I hope you like what I’ve drawn! :D

Edit: Also, apparently if you have a “dark” theme display, it changes the sky’s gradient and/or color. The <ins>real</ins> color and/or gradient is seen with the default “light” display theme (though the sky’s color/gradient in the “dark” display theme is pretty cool too.) Hey mods, just out of curiosity, is there a reason why this happens? Does it have to do with the way the site displays the graphics of gradients in images? I would love to know why this occurs, as this is the first time that I’ve noticed this.
