Discentia is one of the three non-canonical, yet subreddit official,
mascot ponies of /r/mylittlepony. oc:karma,
oc:discentia, and
oc:apathia represent the cooperative
interaction of content voting on the subreddit, with Discentia embodying
the necessity of downvotes.

With a light gray coat and a periwinkle mane, tail, and eyes, Discentia
additionally displays a downvote cutie mark. Typically depicted as
disgruntled, unhappy, and even surly, Discentia’s personality tends
toward the negative quite often. Sometimes sarcastic or bitingly
satirical, Discentia’s is typically associated with the identification
and elimination of bad content. However, Discentia’s demeanor should not
be confused with malice or destructive intent. Just as downvotes are
required on the subreddit to help filter out meaningless or low value
content, Discentia’s role in the balance of /r/mylittlepony is
necessary. Do note, however, that when Discentia is invoked it can
sometimes lead to massive downvotes across an entire thread.
