Guess who re-wrote her story!! … Well her parent’s story really~

This was sat on my computer for a few days, and I couldn’t wait till after I finish some art for others to submit this! I did add some shading but I wasn’t 100% happy with it, so it’s just a flat coloured picture.

THE FOLLOWING STORY IS A WORK IN PROGRESS!

It was a little known fact among the Wonderbolts that Rainbow Dash had feelings for Soarin, thanks to her being terrible at hiding it. So after a push from the other Bolts, Rainbow attempted to express her feelings for him, though failing miserably and flying away at top speed. It didn’t take long for Soarin to figure out what was going on, and went to find her before the other Bolts found out what happened. After all, the thought of him and Dash being in a relationship had crossed his mind a few times over the years. He finally found her with her head planted into a cloud, and after an awkward conversation, he managed to ask her out on a date to Las Pegasus, which she obviously accepted. From there, things went smoothly, the two seemed to be in a solid relationship, and after a year together, Rainbow was pregnant. Soarin had thought of proposing, but with Rainbow slightly panicking about the pregnancy and having a child, he decided to wait until they were settled with their child.

About 6 months into her pregnancy, her friends threw her a baby shower which zapped all of Rainbow’s energy, making her go to bed early. Soarin did not go to sleep however, as he spent the evening at the Cloudsdale pub with his mates having a few pints to drink. Someone was watching him that evening, and once he was alone, they approached him. It was Lightning Dust. She had seen an opportunity to get back at her life long rival, as she had heard of Rainbow’s pregnancy. Lightning talked to Soarin, and found that he was indeed a bit drunk. Using this to her advantage, she made a move on him, allowing the remaining ponies in the pub to see what she was doing and they started rumors. Of course Soarin didn’t object to going home with Lightning Dust being in the state he was in. Rainbow had wondered why Soarin didn’t come home last night, so she went to the Wonderbolts HQ to ask them what happened to him since some of them was with him. All they said was that they left Soarin on his own after he insisted he could make his own way home. Soarin was obviously surprised to find himself with Lightning Dust instead of Rainbow, but with the hangover he had, he couldn’t exactly go anywhere. Again, seeing the opportunity and taking it, Lightning tended to him. He was clearly confused by this, but she needed him to re-think his choice in mares. He returned back to Rainbow’s house where she was glad to see that he was ok, but he kind of wanted to see Lightning again. For some reason, despite a gut feeling telling him what he was doing was wrong, he sneaked away from his girlfriend to be with Lightning. By this time, the Bolts had heard rumors about Soarin being with another mare and going home with her, which Rainbow had promptly dismissed, as did the rest of the Bolts. It shook Rainbow’s entire world when she found out that the rumors were true, when she silently followed him, and caught Soarin in the act of meeting up with Lightning Dust. It was safe to say that and argument broke out, and Rainbow dumped the stallion she thought she would have a family and future together with on the spot. 

The news of what had happened had got to Spitfire and the Wonderbolts, and Soarin was stripped of his Wonderbolt status. Rainbow’s friends tried their best to comfort her, but it was the worst that she had ever been.

EVERYTHING BELOW IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE  

Glacial Drift, also known as “Glacier” or “Drifter” for short, is the only child of Rainbow Dash and Soarin, although you wouldn’t think so with how different she is from them. Sure she’s a strong flyer, and can fly in the harshest weather better than anypony in Equestria, but she doesn’t aim to be the best flyer, or even become a Wonderbolt like her parents hoped she would (Rainbow’s mind exploded when she found out her daughter had no interest in being a Wonderbolt). But Glacier didn’t know what she was supposed to do, as she remained a blank flank for much longer than anyone ever has, being 15 years old when she finally figured it out. Everyone found it funny that for someone who didn’t want to be the best flyer, she still needs her flying skills for her talent, and she still ended up having something to do with the Wonderbolts. Her talent was flying in the harshest conditions to help others, or to be more specific, a search and rescue pony.

The Wonderbolts were inspired by Glacier to consider making a second smaller team specifically trained to be Equestria’s first response for dangerous events, and to be a more qualified search and rescue team. They had all realized that aerial flight maneuvers for performances and agility for sports events were not enough to help Equestria, after all, the Wonderbolts used to be there to protect Celestia, but now they are athletes who occasionally put on a performance. They concluded that a new team needed to be made, and that Glacier needed to be in charge. After initially hesitating, Glacier accepted this role, and the “Wonderbolts First Response Search and Rescue” team was formed (It was a working title at the time!). There was only one problem: Glacier was the only member for a while. It just seemed no one was interested in joining, and the team of one seemed doomed. However, a recent event (which I’ll be drawing soon so I won’t spoil it ) forced Glacier to journey outside of Equestria into an unknown danger, in which she met someone who would not only save her life, but also the newly named “Rescuebolts” (They were nicknamed so that they were not confused with the actual Wonderbolts, and the name stuck). What she had gone through had inspired others to train to be a Rescuebolt.

Glacier is very different from her parents in personality. She’s kind, caring and soft spoken, and often compared to being a more confident version of Fluttershy. But shes not without her flaws, as she will put others before herself, which has led to her not taking care of herself and becoming ill or injured. Her stubbornness can be seen in full display at the winter wrap up, as she refuses to help out and has never been seen anywhere near Ponyville on the day. This is because she loves winter and the cold, and she absolutely hates seeing it all disappear for the year. Something she has always done from the age of 13 is babysit for ponies (and sometimes other creatures), it’s sort of become an unofficial part time job, being known in Ponyville as the first choice if you need a babysitter. 

And that is all the information I can give on her for now. I’ll be uploading that story arc mentioned in the second paragraph at some point either at the end of this year or just into the new year. I love this next gen character loads so expect to see a lot of her here and there! And I one thing on the top of my list is showing off the Rescuebolts uniform and current team.
