This is one of last years Patreon rewards, a skeletal anatomy chart for my version of earth ponies. :D It’s… really out dated, at this point. The anatomy is stiff, with awkward proportions, especially with muscles added on top. But all of the basics, such as bones and muscle groups are there, and this sort of anatomy practice is key to my drawing style.

My more recent Patreon stuff has improved greatly, and I have made anatomy charts for nine different mlp-related species so far, such as griffons, dragons, bat-ponies, and hypogriffs. I also have individual anatomy guilds for some characters, such as the four alicorns, (plus flurry heart) who each have unique physical traits, and Discord. There are also a variety of sketches, WIP’s, and other things available that I post from time to time. This coming month, to celebrate halloween, I will be doing a special anatomy chart for my head cannon of Nightmare Moon. 

Among the three tribe, earth ponies are renowned for their size and physical strength. They have a rich heritage, culture, and strong traditions.

Pure-breed Equestrian earth ponies tend to be larger, taller and more heavily built than their pegasus and unicorn counterparts, but it is not uncommon to find individuals who are cross-breeds.  Shetlanders and Sadle-Arabian horses are some of Equestria’s closest neighbors, and cross-tribe marriages are common among border states. as a result of this, earth ponies display a wide verity of different sizes, body types, and coat patterns.

An earth pony’s skeleton tends to be heavily built, with thicker bones, longer limbs, and larger skulls than pegasi. Their longer muzzle, larger rib cage, and longer tails serve to give then a more traditional equine appearance.

Earth ponies, unlike unicorns or pegasi, channel most or all of their magic through their hooves. All of the three pony tribes possess a specialized organ that allows them to emanate a weak telekinetic field through the fleshy part of their hoof, but it is strongest by far in earth ponies. This allows them to manipulate objects with a much wider range of dexterity than their cousins. If an individual is special trained, they may be able to use the kinetic field to amplify the power of a physical strike, or to absorb a large impact. In ancient times, earth pony warriors used this ability to their advantage in battle, giving them an edge over their more lightly built enemies. The ancient combat technique has largely fallen out of practice, but some modern day farmers still use the ability to shake fruit out of trees.
