Rarity was born into a rich family. She dreamed of being a fashionista/fashion designer when she grew up. She was close friends with a unicorn named Sunburst, until one day he got his cutiemark. Afterwards, he moved on and they became distant friends, and finally lost touch. Diamond Rarity became bitter, VERY bitter, and as she grew older, she began to have more and more ideas of what friendship should be, equality. Everyone should be equal. One day while traveling, Diamond Rarity discovered a small town full of ponies who were all friends. Diamond Rarity decided to share her ideals with them, and to her surprise, they all agreed to an extent. She began to take control of the town by brainwashing everyone who loves there. Currently, she has been promoted to town mayor.
