Amber: Groans and walks in the door. Kicks off her pants and notices Lucky sleeping on the couch. Walks over to him and gently puts her head on his chest

Lucky: slowly wakes up and notices Amber with her head on his chest

Amber: ……………

Lucky: mumbles Um Amber?

Amber: jumps up and backs away from Lucky Oh! Hey Lucky! You’re up! W-why were you sleeping on the couch?

Lucky: Uh, yeah. I was just waiting for you. Same as usual. You’re home a little late though.

Amber: O-oh yeah. Just got stuck at work. You know how it is.

Lucky: Uh-huh………………. So um…. why were you……. sleeping on me?

Amber: I wasn’t sleeping on you!

Lucky: Well what were you doing?

Amber: Nothing!

Lucky: You can tell me. I won’t judge if you were sleeping. You’ve been working hard and you look really tired.

Amber: I already said I wasn’t sleeping!

Lucky: Okay, okay, I’m sorry. I just wanna know what you were doing. If you don’t wanna tell me you don’t have to.

Amber: I was……….. checking your heartbeat

Lucky: What was that?

Amber: I was checking your heartbeat

Lucky: Oh….. Why?

Amber: uncomfortably rubs arm I just wanted to make sure it was okay and that it was still there……….. y-your heartbeat.

Lucky: Why would it not be?

Amber: shrugs and looks down

Lucky: You okay? puts hand on her back

Amber: It just makes me anxious…… when you two are asleep and I don’t check up on you….

Lucky: You’ve been doing this for a long time?

Amber: Since we were kids

Lucky: Wow…… well, we’re pretty healthy guys. You don’t need to check up on us all the time smiles

Amber: Yes I do.

Lucky: I know I keep asking questions but, why?

Amber: Because it scares me that people could just die in their sleep! And I don’t…….. I don’t want that to happen to you guys. If I could hear something wrong beforehand, then maybe I could take action or do something to help……

Lucky: …………..

Amber: Gah, I sound so stupid. I know it’s really dumb.

Lucky: N-no it’s not. A little out of the ordinary but you’re just looking out for us. Better safe then sorry right?

Amber: I guess………. I wish I could stop though. And be able to relax without feeling terrified that you might….. you know. I still worry about Annie a lot actually.

Lucky: I’m sorry…..

Amber: You have nothing to be sorry for chuckles It’s just more of crazy Amber’s problems. Gosh I’m gonna be a mess when you two move out.

Lucky: I think you’ll be okay. Might take some time but you’ll be alright smiles

Lucky: So, you gonna check on Hot Head now?

Amber: Mmmm… maybe. Might wait a little longer. Last time, I thought he was sleeping and I went in his room………… but he wasn’t……… and it was awkward…….. for both of us.

Quick thingy

When I was little, I used to check up on my brother like this. I have no idea why I was so terrified of him dying in his sleep DX I don’t do it anymore but it was a thing. And he never found out lol

Amber would often go into Lucky and Hot Head’s room while they were sleeping just to make sure they were okay. She still does this. Lucky found out that it was because she has an irrational fear of others passing in their sleep
