What the buck is up everypony?

The /mlpmg/ Silver Coin project has been wildly successful, so much so that they’re starting to have genuine concerns about handling a large sum of money. So, the organizers of that project approached us asking to help them.

Who the fuck are you?
We are Snowpity, Inc.: A new nonprofit corporation organized by anons who frequently post and have run successful projects on /mlp/. Everypony working for the corporation is unpaid, from the Board of Directors to the smallest volunteer. That means that after administrative expenses (which we aim to keep as low as possible), 100% of any funds we raise go directly to our objective: To hold events to raise funds to rescue, care for, and improve the lives of equines in need; to bring together artists to practice and hone their craft of pony art; and to educate the world about the beauty that resides within every mare.

As a nonprofit corporation (currently seeking 501(c)(3) recognition), all of our finances and many of our corporate records must be made available to public inspection upon request. Many of our directors want to ensure we are as transparent as possible, even more transparent than the law requires.

What does this mean for /mlpmg/
One of the organizers for that project is a member of our Board of Directors and they asked us to take over the project for them since their estimated revenue (>$50k) was kind of scary given the issues faced by the Marenheit 451 art pack with the IRS. Though it wasn't the primary reason for which we were founded, we agreed to assist them. Since then, we've brought on the other organizer as a corporate officer and the two anons who were running the project will continue to be the primary anons running it. The only thing that changes is where the money's going and how the money is going to be handled.

What’s the catch?
As a nonprofit, we cannot run this project just to sell coins, though. We must use it to raise money for our objectives, one of which is assisting equines in need. As a result, there may be a few extra dollars (to be decided by the anons running the project, see their thread for more details) added to the price of each coin for this purpose. Since the idea of donating excess money to Day's End was already floated in the /mlpmg/ threads, I believe that is the charity for which they will be earmarking the money. In addition, any additional money left over in the buffer will either be donated to Day's End as well or may be held for use in a future coin project on the board (again, check with the anons running the project in the /mlpmg/ thread).
