"Ever wondered what Queen Novo's parents looked like? Well I decided to do my own take. They'll feature in a story that I am writing on FIMFiction.
Queen Marina is Novo's mother. She is a calm and collective individual, but she does retain a lot of sass, a trait that will brush off on Novo. While she may appear vain and high-class, she enjoys walking on the beach and visiting with other creatures across Equestria. Her design takes some inspiration from Novo's early concept art from the movie, mainly her color scheme and mane design.
King Typhoon is Novo's father. Before he became king, he was a hardened sailor who spent a lot of time out at sea. He easily charmed and won over Marina, and the two have lived happily since. Despite his hardened exterior and his old age, Typhoon is a gentle soul who loves to tell stories of his times out at sea and has an appreciation for surfing, a popular pastime on Mount Aris. He carries around a trident, mostly to aid in walking.
Together, Marina and Typhoon would go on to raise Novo, their first daughter and heir to the throne, and Ocean Flow, a free spirit who loved the sea as much as her father does. They would step down from the throne once Novo was of age and when she married Waverider, becoming the new rulers of Mount Aris. They would enjoy their retirement together, though they would depart from Mount Aris to live in the tropical Honoluuhoof, though they would routinely visit before the Storm King's invasion. Typhoon would eventually pass on, but Marina would continue to keep in contact with her daughter."
