Description:
i was there when you fell from the clouds
and landed in the deseet
there was a thunder inside of my heart
there was a wonderful pleasure
and like a stallion racing the rain
you rode in the back of my bike
i knew from the song that you sang
you were my lover for life
🔹 The Crystal Heart is an ancient magical artifact hewn of the same iridescent blue as the Tree of Harmony, and it hums with the same familiar, primal magic that brought the Savior-Sisters of Equestria back to life in olden times, if the stories can be believed. The pony who first made its discovery, the very first Empress of the North, was thus blessed with incredible magic and abundant youth... As well as a most intimate connection with the very heart of Equestria, and the feelings of its citizens.
Princess Amore was a rather unconventional lady, but she never once disappointed her people; the Princess in the North was a warrior of renown and as honorable a knight as there's ever been, always exhausting herself in her pursuits for her subjects' happiness and safety. Even in modern times, the North is a wild land, frozen and overrun with creatures too dark for the plump, peaceful southern ponies. But with the Heart's magic, Princess Amore kept such dangers at bay from their ever growing nation, and was deeply loved by the crystal ponies in turn.
This is why the northern folk rejoiced when their Crystal Princess knelt at the center of the Castle Plaza, to ask for the rest of Queen Luna's days with the Crystal Heart as her witness. It was later recorded that the gathered crowd, once surprised speechless, soon erupted into loud cheers for their Patron of Love and her dark lady, who'd become a recurrent visitor at the Empire and generally well-liked. The crystal ponies were congregated at the Castle Plaza, celebrating the anniversary of the Heart's discovery and the Founding of the Crystal Empire. It was the time of year for ponies to share their love with each other and with their Heart, fueling its magic... And their joy swelled to a deafening roar when Princess Amore presented the Queen with a ring. Some, of course, sulked and whispered and brooded, thinking it unsightly for the Crystal Princess to devote her love to a bat-winged, meat-eating creature. Indeed, Luna's embracing of her bat pony heritage had given the good folk of Equestria much to talk about, and not all of it was good. The Night Queen had gone as far as to hire bat ponies for her maidservants, jewelmakers and chefs, and was rumored to gorge herself on glasses of foal's blood every full moon...!
But such murmurs were the minority, and hardly heard under the sheer joy that overtook the Empire that fateful week Luna spent after Amore's proposal (which was, needless to say, tearfully accepted with an embrace and a kiss). The Crystal Heart, urged on by the swelling emotion, glowed and shone like a second Sun, bathing the crystal ponies in its warmth... Even as somepony's own heart grew even more bitter and dark.
happy valentine's day! i rushed this a tad, but it's still technically the 14th (almost 10pm for me!) so i'm right on time to post these two lovebirds. due to time restraints i used a vector background, credit here. thank you so much for your resources!
because it's sweet and i'm a sucker for the holiday, i think it's fitting for hearts n' hooves to have originated as the anniversary of the crystal empire's founding, and the finding of the crystal heart :] i hope you like it!
almost forgot- the small brooch attached to Amore's armor is a gift from Luna; you can see her wearing it here: www.deviantart.com/pumpkabooo/…</i>
