Description:
North didn’t know how it happened, but deep in her heart, she knew exactly why. Both BB-X and her own father always told her “You’re the sun and stars come together”. But only now does she realize what her omnipotent uncle was really trying to tell her. She had only thought about it in passing. What that vile spirit did to her mother so many eons before her own birth. Corrupted her, changed her, made her no more than another spirit of chaos. North never considered the idea that some of that foul magic somehow remained during her conception. Dad’s the embodiment of purity and hope, how could anything nasty stay involved?
However it did, it wanted to make itself known.
At first, she didn’t notice. A piece of candy here, a pineapple or two there. But yesterday, she did notice. A single gumdrop, born from a flash of light before her. And finally, the dominoes fell. She made sure nothing would get hurt in her little “test”, hiding away in her chambers, but that was all the protection she could give the world. To be fair, that’s all it would need. North had no idea how to do it consciously, no thanks to that vile draconequus, but when something finally did happen, it was completely out of her control.
A thin, crimson laser was launched from her horn, instantly transmuting a jar of pickles into a pocket watch. At first, she was thrilled, but upon realizing that her aura wouldn’t stop, her joy turned to dread. The red and black aura flowed along her body with unpleasant speed, slow enough to see, fast enough to be missed.
The very first thing North noticed was the feeling. A fusion of burning and freezing, things her thermal resistance had never let her feel, now consumed her entire body. The second, and most disturbing for her, was the changes. She couldn’t tell what changed first, but as she would later learn, it all happened at once. Using the sensation recordings, she pieced together how each part felt. It wasn’t too difficult, at no point was there any pain, but reliving this horrific event bit by bit didn’t help her calm down.
Her horn wandered to the left, straightening out into one solid spike before curling backwards. Her fiery orange antenna simply grew from her skull, much like her fancy new wings. Or, wing, singular, and bizarre greenish metal appendage that apparently acts like a wing next to her bright red dragon wing. Whatever it was, it wasn’t mechanical like her right claw, which painlessly twisted itself counterclockwise multiple times before revealing a grey robotic arm. Her left wasn’t doing any better, violently shacking to the point it became liquid, then gaseous. A perpetually smokey arm, inarguably still solid, as she could grab objects and snap her hidden fingers without issue. Said arms were attached to a flaky paper body, a piñata, to be specific. Her tail became as wide as her torso, and turned purple with scales, dotted with bright yellow scales, ending in a large fish-like fin. Her legs were the easiest to describe, her right becoming a yellow wooden limb. Her corresponding tuft became a bundle of thorns. Her left became rocks, with a bundle of pebbles connected to a cylinder of sedimentary stone, ending in a dazzling emerald hoof.
All of that was child’s play to what became of her eyes. The rest she could put words to, but her face was a special part of her transformation. It was slow, she remembered every last part of it. Her muzzle, ears, and fangs elongated, and her eyes became sky blue with small hot pink dots. But as her eyes morphed, they saw something, and that thing would haunt her dreams for months.
She witnessed the power she held within her. Not just the magic that grips at her body, but all of it. Her raw strength and speed, her mental fortitude, her determination given shape. It was huge. Expansive beyond description. She could tell herself that her uncle was stronger all she wanted, but as true as the statement was, her words were hollow. She had never seen his full power, or anyone else’s. But she saw her own, and only one word came to mind when she did.
As the changes reached their end, she could only think of that word.
“Absurdity; the quality or state of being ridiculous or wildly unreasonable.”
Absurdity so great, so extreme, it made her laugh in mania. She understood what BB-X had been telling her: she WAS absurdity, a creature beyond reason, the embodiment of indescribability and ridiculousness.
She was relieved to find that her mind, and oddly her mane, were unaltered by the process, but she needed to put a name to the form she took.
Much like before, the word came to her;
“Paralogismós.”

Paralogismós, or “Hewa” as Lucky likes to call it (both words meaning “absurdity” in Greek and Hawaiian respectively), is North Star’s draconequus transformation. While active, North is completely immortal, and can do pretty much anything she can think of. It took a lot of training to master, but North is nothing if not committed. It doesn’t take much effort to stay “A-Crazy”, but she does need to be awake for it to stay active.
North is able to attain this power thanks to Discord doing an Agent Smith on Celestia a couple thousand years before North was born.
Why can’t Morning Star do this? He can, he just doesn’t want to.
