Name: Empress Luna

Full Name: Empress Lunar Light of Equestria

Nicknames: Dear Sister(by Celestia), Lulu(by Celestia), Empress(by subjects)

Gender: Cis Female (She/Her) [Bisexual]

Parent(s): Unknown; Starswirl the Bearded(surrogate father, technically didn’t legally adopted Celestia & Luna)

Siblings: (former) Princess Celestial Light(older sister)

Partner(s): Lord Discord(Husband)

Occupation: Ruler of Equestria, Princess of the moon

Headcannons:

-Luna and her older sister Celestia were found as orphans by Starswirl the Bearded who took the two under his guidance.

-She and Celestia showed great magical potential and ascended to Alicorns at a young age. They were chosen to rule the newly-found Equestria by the ponies who lived there.

-During her time as Nightmare Moon, Luna “rewarded” ponies who were loyal to her with new forms. Pegasi were turned into Bat-Ponies, and Unicorn and Earth-Ponies were given new traits. After Nightmare Moon’s banishment the Bat-Ponies went into hiding until Luna’s eventual reformation centuries later. The changed Earth-Ponies and Unicorn had ‘merged’ with “normal” ponies and the traits were passed down in family genetics of certain bloodlines.

-After Twilight’s ascension to Alicornhood (and eventually the end of season 8) Celestia realized it was time for her to retire. Luna, her and Cadence figured Twilight couldn’t rule since she was too unexperienced, and since Cadence was already ruling the Crystal Empire with her family, Luna was chosen to rule, since she was on the moon for a millennium anyways. After Luna’s coronation as the single Empress of Equestria she eventually married Discord and had children.

-After Luna’s reformation from Nightmare Moon Luna gained some changed to her look, like the flowing hair and her signature bat wings, and slitted pupils.
