gp3119 helped me come up with some backstory for hot old ladies Prim Hemline and Harshwhinny. These sketches were kind of quick but I believe they get my point across. So let’s make like Twilight and READ!

Prim (then addressed by her original name, Pristine Hematite) was born in Neighpon and raised to be a well-mannered, upstanding mare (heaven knows her mother never had the tiniest scrap of control over Prim’s fiercely assertive elder half-siblings, Zesty and Dandy). During college Prim would be sent to the Maneland to spend a few semesters studying at Canterlot State University. Here, Prim would meet and fall in love with the promising young athlete Harshwhinny Cinch. The two were very happy together, but sadly their carefree romantic days were numbered. Prim was obligated to return to Neighpon and marry whatever well-bred young pony her parents selected for her. True love is all well and good, but familial obligation comes first.

Prim got her art school credentials in order and went into fashion design, where she flourished. Home life was less exciting. Her parents hooked her up with the equally-obligated Sky Dream, and bland wedded mediocrity was achieved. The two produced a son, Soshi Saddles, who never failed to suffer the dark cloud of his parents’ unhappy union. The good news is that eventually Prim and Sky snapped the fuck out of it, realized they didn’t have to live their lives with their families’ collective hoof on their throats, and split up. Soshi stayed with Prim, and they relocated to Canterlot, where Prim’s work continued to thrive.

Harshwhinny, meanwhile, had spent her life climbing the hallowed athletic ranks and was now running the Equestria Games. Fate would stage a reunion between her and Prim and, despite both of them being enormously career-driven, the pair couldn’t stay away. They rekindled their decades-old romance and eventually married. This occurred much to the delight of Soshi, who was and is, of course, Sassy. Prim’s daughter followed in her mother’s fashionista hoofsteps and is an impressive designer in her own right. Sassy adores her mom and stepmom, though she does get a kick out of emphasizing the latter of her vertically-challenged stature.

For those who wonder: I do think that Prim and Whinny offered to pay for Sassy’s finishing spells, but (like Flash) Sassy didn’t feel like she needed them. She’s all mare, and doesn’t require a spell to prove it.
