I surmise that Samosa Stripes (not shown) was a powderkeg who gave her mothers a lot of hell growing up (and probably turned Saffron’s magnificent mane grey). Meanwhile, Sam’s best friend Chandelier Swing—while certainly mischievous (that lip ring is a direct reference to Songbird’s errant tooth)—is more openly affectionate and family oriented. I figure Chandi and Sam made good as a modern song and dance act, and the papers want to know where credit is due.
That proto-smartwatch, you’ll recall, allows the mute Chandi to communicate verbally with the world outside her immediate family. Makes interviewing quite a bit easier!
