Is it a bird? Is it plane? Is it a new Next Gen?

Well…sorta kinda…

Some of you might remember a few weeks ago when I posted my New Year’s resolutions, that one of my goals was to re-do and tweak Taffy and Caramel’s vomit inducing designs ( as well as their personalities, but that’s for another day). And for once in my life, I actually kept a New Years resolution!

So it with great pride I present to you all, the newly redone designs of Caramel and Marzipan! 

What’s that?

Oh, why did I re-name Taffy, Marzipan? I’m glad you asked!

You see, as I worked on her this past week, it became increasingly clear that the name ‘Taffy’ wasn’t good enough. It was bland, pretty plain, and it just added to my list of characters with ‘e’ sounding names. I have nothing against those who like it or use it for their characters, but it’s just not for me. And, to be honest, I never liked it in the first place. I just thought it up on the spot when I posted her without giving it more than a second glance.

But now that I’ve had time to think things over, naming her Marzipan has never felt so right. I mean, think about it, which character are you more likely to remember: one called ‘Taffy’ or one names ‘Marzipan’? Plus, her name is taken from the MMM cake that Pinkie helped create, so it even has brownie points in the basket of relevance!

Anyway, I think that’s enough ranting from me about the name change. Hope you all like it, and I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! And honestly, if there’s a design you have a bone to pick with, now’s the time to speak up and let me know while I’m in renovation mode.

Oh! Also, I know this took a while to come out, and after all the dumps with Petri, I know it can feel like a 180, but I needed to update their designs for the upcoming Cousin dump this weekend. You might wanna keep an eye out for it; there’s gonna be a bit of a surprise at the end.
