Applejack has faced her other self. She has obtained the facade to overcome life’s hardships, the Persona Sophrosyne!

Sophrosyne was a greek goddess or spirit of moderation, self-control, temperance, restraint, and discretion. She was one of the good spirits who escaped Pandora’s box. It is also a word that refers to excellence of character and soundness of mind in a well-balanced individual.

The Temperance Arcana represents a person who’s life is in balance, or is learning how to keep balance. However, the inverse represents a person who is in stress due to a lack of balance, usually because they lack long term vision or drive. Applejack, while being the most grounded member of the mane 6, also has an air of someone who single-mindedly devotes themselves to keeping the status quo. Her future is her present, she expects to be in the same place ten years now as she is right now. And while there is nothing wrong with the sort of lifestyle, there is a worrisome number of moments where the simplest change of plans makes Applejack lose face, and that could be disastrous if a major and traumatic change or loss in her life were to occur.
