Description:

Fillies and Gentlecolts… Version 2.0

Consisting of a COMPLETE reanalysis of Season 1 and an initial analysis of Season 2, Version 2.0 is at least 220% more accurate and detailed than the original map, as you can see for yourself. I just wish I had gotten this version out sooner instead of leaving y’all with that horrifyingly simplified map for so long…

This particular map is brand new, and I seriously wish that I had thought of it in the first place! You seriously have no idea how handy it’s been to just look at a photo guide of each building instead of trying to piece things together from random letters scattered across screen shots… Or maybe you do. ^ Anywho, let’s say goodbye to letters as a form of identification, and enjoy a nice easy photo system instead. Each picture of a building is taken directly from a scene where it was spotted in an episode. If you cannot identify the building from the screenshot, I would recommend comparing it to the Building Guide (which has also proved extremely useful during this process): [link]

CLARIFICATIONS

———————

1. Anything that is not in the gray blob of streets in Ponyville proper (i.e. within a stone’s throw of other houses so I can guage probable distances) is a rough placement. Examples of rough placement include the entirety of Sweet Apple Acres, Mt. Dragonshy, Froggy Bottom Bog, Canterlot, etc. It’s probably in that general direction and placement compared to the other items on the map, but it could be within a very large range of distances from the other objects.

  1. Those big dark tan lines in the middle of town = possible building locations. There’s still a lot of town that we haven’t seen yet, but these are my best guesses as to where buildings could go eventually.

  2. The photo guide has grown as the plain version of the map has grown in small bits and pieces. However, this usually ended up meaning that I had to piece small chunks of the plain map onto the photo guide after enlarging it by 1000% and/or rotating/moving existing pieces of the photo guide. Needless to say, while the photo guide is excedingly similar in shape/structure to the plain map, there are a few places where the pixels don’t quite match up. Not that big a deal in the long run.

And YES you can use this map for whatever you like. I don’t own MLP:FiM or anything in it, so that handles the legal side of things. And I want people to use the map for whatever purposes they can think of (the crazier the better), so that handles the personal side of things. Anywho, here’s to hoping this helps everypony with their projects. I’m looking forward to seeing what turns up. Posted image
