The Crystal Castle in the middle of the Crystal Empire was originally called a Crystal Lighthouse. It is because of the energy of love and peace bursting out from the core of the lighthouse, the Crystal Heart. King Sombra tried to take advantage of this point to take over Equestria. He tried to vanish the Crystal Heart and replace it with an artifact contained with his dark magic to spread dark magic across the entire continent.
