“I wanted to do another marker piece since it’s been a bit. When I realized I had the colors for Smolder here, I knew I had to draw her – I mean, a routine <span class="caps">MLP</span> picture, a marker piece, <span class="caps">AND</span> fits with Smaugust? You bet I’m doing that. So here she is! Like the Ember I did way back when, I wanted to do a more typical dragon look for Smolder. One, that’s just my style. Two, even though I don’t have a problem with all the more anthro art of <span class="caps">MLP</span>’s female dragons, I think it’s a shame there’s not more beastly versions of them.

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with this one. I always love a chance to do some marker work – even though it means all the stress of doing lineart – and enjoyed working with her design.”
