“Hey!-” Cassie protested, but it was already too late. Cookie Butter had already crashed, fast asleep.

This is my first time trying to draw on a base! I’ve been having a lot of issues with my Apple Pencil where the lines don’t stream correctly, but I can’t go anywhere to get it fixed because of quarantine, so I’m just hoping for the best. Tried a base edit for something new. Definitely a challenge, but it was fun!

For some background: Damon takes Cassie to her first party. Her first real party, not those princess afterparty ceremonies with assorted brunch platters and organized seating charts. They end up getting separated (it’s a crowd of like 120 ponies), and Cassie ends up in the popular kid crowd, where Kie immediately catches her eye. Cookie pulls her onto the elevated stage. She’s mad drunk but still conscious, all while Cassie is completely sober, and while Cas may be used to the spotlight as a princess, this was different.

She completely loses track of time, not even knowing where Damon is or if he’s even still there, just having a good time with Cookie. Kie drags Cas out of the venue, and Cassie has no idea what’s about to happen- but at some point, it becomes very obvious that Cookie is really far gone. She’s tripping all over the place, barely able to keep her balance, and she can’t get out a solid sentence. Cassie doesn’t know her, has never heard the name “Kie,” and she doesn’t even know what family she belongs to, so she brings Cookie back to Twilight’s castle.

Cas sneaks her in through the back, and right as they climb inside, Kie’s already deep in sleep. She stays there for the night with little recollection of what happened the night before, but Cassie remembers everything. The next morning may not have meant anything for Cookie, but Cassie was going through a world of emotions.
