Description:
Emerald translates what the guard said to Ruby, and then they make their way down to Millet Cafe, just down the street.
The inside of the shop is well lit, and reminds Emerald of the diners he has read about in his books. There is a long counter with bright red stools, and several booths set against the windows, also in a nice bright red. The tiled floor is a clean black and white chessboard pattern, and behind the bar are some liquor bottles, a mirror, a cash register, and a window for the waitress to give orders. The waitress passes by and leans over from her cash register and says,
“Well hey there lil’ ones! Don’t see too many foals wanderin’ these parts by themselves lately. What can I do ya for?”
Emerald says they were looking for some food.
“Well Uh got plenty o’ that here! Har har!” She says, handing them a menu.
The pair sits at the counter, and Ruby pipes up.
“So what, is this some sort of pony hang out or something?” Ruby asks the waitress.
Emerald looks around. Indeed, a lot of the patrons do seem to by ponies, though there are a few zebras sprinkled here and there.
“Yeah, well, we serve mostly pony ‘cuisine’, if ya wanna call it that. We got some zebra stuff on ‘ere too, but it’s more of a pony-zebra fusion.” The waitress says, pointing it out on the menu.
