Rarity and Sweetie Belle were out exploring a hidden underground desert temple after hearing of a once great deity’s treasures buried within its depths, Rarity gaining inspiration to use said treasures for new ensembles after hearing of this. However, after finding themselves deep within the maze of corridors within the decrepit and worn down temple, Sweetie accidentally triggered a floor panel while walking around, causing the temple corridors to flood at an alarming rate.

The two tried to find their way back to the temple entrance before the water submerged them both, but in their panic got themselves lost as the waters neared the ceiling. Having no further options, the two took a deep breath and were swallowed by the flooding water as they continued their escape on held breaths. The two stuck close as they swam, holding hands as not to lose each other in the maze-like corridors and checking their breaths with each passing moment, Rarity using her magic to light the way.

Those moments soon passed, seconds turned to minutes and Sweetie Belle was the first to feel her breathholding capabilities reach its limits, Rarity pulling her close and began swimming for the both of them. The older mare felt her lungs start to give out too, but Sweetie was clearly struggling more, clutching her mouth as bubbles seeped through her pursed cheeks and nose, hunching over in pain. Rarity picked up the pace and thought about sharing her breath with her younger sister, but Sweetie had reached her bursting point as she screamed into the water, her lungs giving out.

“BGLAAAGBLBL!!” Bubbles exploded from the young foal’s mouth. Sweetie Belle was drowning. The foal cocked her head back as her body twitched and convulsed, her legs kicking wildly as she drowned.

“Mmbbl…” Rarity looked at her with growing panic, air trickling from her lips, mentally praying for her sister’s safety.

“Stay with me, Sweetie… We’re going to get through this, I promise.”

This is one of the first posters I’ve made for SFM and I’m quite impressed how it turned out for a beginner like myself with less than substantial hardware.

There are a few problems I forgot to pick up like the lighting on some props in the background and the lighting in general since Tonemapscale didn’t want to work, but it turned out quite well for my first go. I think I may do more of these in the future, good to get some practice in.
