Bio The only child of Fluttershy, Big Macintosh, and Sugar Belle, Macoun Apple is the heir to the Apple family business, though he’s not really the farming type in the traditional sense. Despite being a pegasus, Macoun is very in tune with plant life of all kinds, similar to how his mother is with animals. He helps to strengthen his family’s crops and create new cultivars through his gift of communicating with flora. He used to live with his parents and great-grandmother in the original farmhouse, though now he lives in Fluttershy’s old cottage, which has been overtaken by his pet plants. He’s rather quiet, though he’s more talkative and outgoing than his parents. He’s on the weaker side, which is inconvenient considering his family’s profession. Because he knows Fluttershy would fuss over him if he was in danger, he is extremely cautious, and as a result doesn’t really do anything outside of his usual routine. He’s also not that dependable of a person, and he doesn’t usually do favors for anyone if it doesn’t interest him, which he contributes to his narcolepsy making him so tired that he literally can’t focus on things that bore him without falling asleep.

Relationships Macoun and Ambrosia have always been the closest of friends, and have known each other their entire lives. Although their personalities clash at times, what with Macoun’s carefulness and Ambree’s risktaking tendencies, they still make sure that they hang out with one another once a day. Ambree is who Macoun tells most of his secrets to, like how he doesn’t really think he’s worthy of being an Apple and how he has a massive crush on their mutual friend, Derecho. Derecho is Macoun’s best friend, and object of his affections. They mostly just talk about life and other things when they’re hanging out, though it’s not uncommon to just find them silently enjoying each other’s company, as Macoun is one of the only ponies Derecho can bear to be quiet around. Macoun’s loved Derecho for years at this point, but isn’t aware that he feels the same towards him, so they’ve never gotten together. Despite her not being his biological mother, Macoun considers Sugar Belle to be his favorite parent, as she lets him off the hook for any shenanigans that come with hanging out with Ambrosia and Derecho. She was also the one to encourage his love for botany and plant life during a time in which he was very confused on who he was supposed to be.
