The strength of heart required to face oneself has been made manifest.

Rarity has faced her other self. She has obtained the facade to overcome lifes hardships, the Persona Liberalitas!

If you thought Rainbow Dash’s persona was obscure, I could only barely find confirmation that Liberalitas was even a goddess in the first place. The word “Liberalitas” Is more often used to describe the act of giving freely rather than any actual figure or person. The ONLY thing I got on her was that, in Roman times, she was imprinted on the surface of coins that were shared amongst the people in times of prosperity. She’s depicted as carrying a counting board (basically an abacus) to help decide how much each citizen would receive.

Since I haven’t actually written the Chapter of Harmony Arcana where Rarity gets her Persona yet, here’s a bit of context. Liberalitas is wearing a mask that is Draconic in nature, representing intense greed. She’s also wearing a dress with spider themes to it, representing the idea of luring helpless victims into a web to be sucked dry of their life. However while these aspects are represented as destructive in Rarity’s shadow, in Rarity’s persona the Dragon and Spider are used as symbols of beauty and grace. I see Dragons who have tamed their greed as potentially great patrons of the arts, and spiders use their silk to create beautiful designs that are both pretty to look at, and help keep out potentially dangerous pests.
