Whirlwind: Hi Hot Head! Hi Amber! gets up and stumbles as she tries to walk

Hot Head: Whoa, careful! You okay?

Whirlwind: Yeah. Still a little off balance I guess. So did you have any trouble getting up here, Amber? Sorry I couldn’t meet you on the ground.

Amber: It’s fine. Annie was able to use the cloud walking spell

Whirlwind: That’s good!

Amber: So, are you ready for physical therapy?

Whirlwind: I think so.

Amber: Alright, let’s get that splint off first

Whirlwind: Thank you so much for doing this. Physical therapy is so expensive. I feel so bad. I could pay you if you’d like

Amber: It’s alright. Anything for Hot Head’s marefriend

Hot Head: She’s not my marefriend! blushes

Amber: Hmmm… it’s pretty stiff. I’m just going to move it a little bit at the joints, okay?

Amber: Sorry, this might be a little sore. Have you been exercising?

Whirlwind: Kinda. It’s a little hard since my balance is horrible. Owieowieowie.

Amber: Understandable. Make sure you get out and about as much as you can okay? No need to overexert yourself, but y’know.

Whirlwind: Gotcha

Hot Head: How come your feathers aren’t back yet? It’s been a while hasn’t it?

Whirlwind: Uhhh….

Amber: Her wing bone and tissues are damaged. They need to heal before the feathers can grow back

Whirlwind: What she said.

Hot Head: That sounds awful

Whirlwind: Fire sucks. Can’t even look at it

Hot Head: Guess that means you can’t stare at my butt anymore

Whirlwind: Wha? looks at Hot Head’s flanks and sees his cutie mark Oh! Hahaha lookit you making jokes

Prism: Not too well it seems like.

Prism: Maybe not on your own, but you can with a little help

Prism: You can spread your wing if you want. I’ll slow down a little bit

Whirlwind: ….and then I did like 10 barrel rolls with a backflip to end it. I thought I was gonna puke! But it was soooo awesome

Icy: Sounds awesome. Can’t believe you recovered so fast.

Whirlwind: Me neither. I got really lucky for sure.

Icy: Mmhm.

Whirlwind: So how’ve you been?

Icy: Pretty good I guess.

Whirlwind: You got a marefriend yet? nudges Icy

Icy: chuckles Nah. Not yet

Whirlwind: Well, nothing wrong with that. That’s……. that’s………..

Whirlwind: huddles close to Icy and breathes heavily Fi…..fi….

Icy: notices smoke in the distance Whirlwind, it’s okay, I think it’s just a chimney

Whirlwind: Fire…….. starts shaking Nononono…

Icy: Um, i-it’s okay………… Shshhshhhh rubs Whirlwind’s back and leads her away from the smoke

Whirlwind: breathing slows down W-Wha?

Icy: looks at her with a worried expression

Whirlwind: I’m sorry, Stormy. I just…. that happens sometimes when I’m reminded of fire. I can’t help it I

Icy: It’s okay. I understand. What you did was probably really traumatizing. But you’re a hero and that’s really inspiring.

Whirlwind: Thank you Stormy. That means an awful lot.

Icy: Hey, did Priz tell you?

Whirlwind: Hm?

Icy: I finally decided what I’m gonna do. What kind of job I want to have.

Whirlwind: Are you sure it’s YOUR choice?

Icy: Mmhm. I decided that I’m going to be a firefighter.

Whirlwind: Really? Wow. I must be REALLY inspiring chuckles

Icy: O-of course you are!

Whirlwind: Oh Icy, I was just kidding giggles

Icy: I wasn’t.

A lot of you seemed to be under the impression that Whirlwind would actually end up with her wing amputated or that I would decide on a scenario based on your comments. However, in reality, I meant it’s kinda like the ships and stuff. You get to have your own headcanon about the situation.

Maybe she eventually recovers but only after a lot of physical therapy like in the scene with Hot Head

Or maybe she does get her wing amputated like in the scene with Prism

OR maybe she has a full recovery but suffers from PTSD like in the scene with Icy

OOOOOR any variation of that.

Sorry if I’m drawing a lot of the same thing XP I’m just trying to draw as much as I can before I start getting a lot of work for my classes. Sooooo I just think of an idea and draw it. When coming up with one idea, I tend to stay on the same track and develop it more which is why I did like three pictures in a row related to Whirlwind lol
