This piece was highly inspired by the recent Amethyst Star illustration by UncleChai.

I was fascinated by the expression and colours of their artwork. So I tried my hoof at drawing a similar piece. This is the first time I tried painting, and I had to learn how to pick colours manually without relying on blending modes. I did start the piece as my regular drawing and then decided to paint it a bit later. So it doesn't look super-painterly, but I think it's a great start.
