I’ve always found the relationship between Twilight and Celestia to be quite interesting. They connect on several different levels, from teacher to student, friend to friend, and a sort of mother to daughter. It’s very apparent that they harbor a deep love and understanding for one another, and I just wanted to attempt to capure it. (Failed miserably, but I tried.) They probably have the most complex relationship/interactions in the show.

It seems that Twilight stayed up all night studying by candlelight in the Canterlot library (maybe she just wanted to watch the sun rise wink wink). Celestia has just finished pulling the sun over the horizon, and seeing her student asleep over her desk, covers her with a blanket so she won’t be chilly. SUCH LOVE. :3 It’s chesey, I know, but I’m a cheese like that.

sooooo, I was experimenting with methods of digital painting, and this came out. (ignore the purple on the bottom, it’s where the picture ends, and I needed room to sign it XD) No reference was used in the making of this piece, as it was done to exercise my knowledge of anatomy, which, looking at the final product, is quite limited.
