His Last Stand
One forgets how fast Diamond Dogs are...

I've been teasing this image for a while: how Pharynx died in my alternate universe (the BonaVerse). I've referenced it in these two pieces I've made:

But now we see what it was that caused his demise: a border dispute with the Diamond Dogs that turned the narrow-minded mutts into territorial monsters. Pharynx was merely sent on a border patrol where one lay in wait for him to send a message to the other Changelings.

Pharynx thought he'd prepared for such an event, but Diamond Dogs are faster than most creatures in Equestria. Faster than the Abyssinians, even.

One strike from the Diamond Dog took an antennae, the second took half of his ear, the third most of his left wing, and the last before the final blow nearly tore off his hind leg.

But Pharynx held firm. The last thing reflecting in his eyes other than the Dog aiming straight for his throat, jaws agape, was Tempest. He'd only proposed a few hours ago. Now... he'd never see her again.
