Mapmaking includes a basic understanding of topography. Do a survey of the field and see if there is anything to suggest an unnatural mound or depression that could be the entrance to a house.
[Perception] You roll a 9 (required 10). Partial success.
Moonflower (Perception): 15
Honourshine (Perception):5

With the hermit's house nowhere to be seen, you suspect that it may simply be camouflaged in the grasslands — perhaps even hidden underground, not unlike Starfalls Town's new earth-sheltered houses.

Moonflower: "Ooh, maybe!"

Honourshine: "Did Quin not say we would be able to see it from this hill?"

You do remember him saying as much, but figure that it may be more obvious to those who already know what to look for. And seeing as you don't, you suggest circling over the southern fields instead, and keep an eye out for any peculiar landforms.

Not having any better ideas, your companions join you as you take flight once more. You glide steadily over the flat meadows until you reach another, larger hill a few minutes directly to the south. You take a moment to examine the hill, but find no entrances around it.

Honourshine: "Tsu-Ko, any ideas?"

Tsu-Ko: "I don't see the world like you do. But if there's any magic involved, then I can tell you it's not arcane."

Honourshine: "Hm..."

Moonflower: "Hey, what about the flowers?"

Honourshine: "... What about them?"

Moonflower: "Look, they're kinda growin' like it's a super big garden. See?"

You focus on the wildflowers in the nearby meadows, and quickly realize what Moonflower means: whereas they are mixed everywhere else, pink flowers alone grow in abundance at the foot of the hill.

Curious, you decide to fly back while paying closer attention to them. Indeed, you find that the pink flowers grow more densely together and in rather well-defined geometrical patterns all over the fields between both hills; an area roughly the size of the Everfree Forest, by your estimation.

The patterns seem to mostly consist of straight, angled lines — most of them converging toward the hill with the oak tree, and becoming wider and farther apart as they stretch further southward. A few perpendicular bands of the same colour strike through them here and there, following in size.

Honourshine: "Good eye. Now, how do you suppose these flowers are linked to the hermit's house...?"
