All the villains got alternate timelines in The Cutie Remark except the best villain. Time to fix that. Welcome to an alternate timeline where, after The Sphinx was defeated by Somnambula and exiled from the land, she flew right instead of left and ended up in Discord-ruled Ponyville. She defeated him, settled in and declared herself Lord, and has ruled ever since. As Equestria is so much larger than her former kingdom but her demand for tribute hasn't changed, she actually demands very little of her subjects and on the whole the entire kingdom is fairly similar to canon Equestria save for Egyptian-themes being prevalent through the land. The Power of Friendship is still a thing, evidently so by how the Mane Six still managed to become friends all the same in such a different timeline, but as most threats to the kingdom are solved by throwing a gigantic snarling sphinx at them, the Power of Friendship is not held in nearly as high of regard. The end result is a fairly peaceful, if different, Equestria.

Twilight Sparkle is a priestess, serving as her advisor, majordomo, and diplomat. Though The Sphinx has mellowed considerably in the past thousand years, she finds it best to have someone she trusts who can speak pony-to-pony as she can still let her temper get the better of her from time to time, and Twilight has learned a phenomenal amount of magic studying under her.

Rainbow Dash became head of her guard, after a strong recommendation from Twilight Sparkle. It's surprisingly a perfect fit for a pony like Dashie: seen as a badass and a hero by all but she does very little actual work and spends most of her time working out or sleeping.

Rarity works to produce and maintain The Sphinx's clothing and jewelry, a job that has made her exceedingly wealthy as Carousel Boutique is now known as the company trusted by the God-Queen of the land, but she definitely enjoys the perks of dressing in fine jewelry and mingling with high society more than the money.

Fluttershy's life is fairly similar. She still lives in her cottage and cares for her animals, and Angel Bunny is still a prick, but she'll never get to pass up an opportunity to be invited to the palace, dress up in fine jewelry, and care for the biggest and most powerful animal in the land.

Pinkie Pie still works at Sugarcube Corner, and is often tasked with presenting tributes to The Sphinx. Though The Sphinx is almost always a quantity-over-quality kind of cat, she has taken a particular liking to Pinkie Pie's creative, cute, and delicious tributes, much to the chagrin of...

Applejack, who often feels overshadowed by this. Half of all the food her farm produces goes straight to The Sphinx, and as a result she's one of the wealthiest mares in all of Equestria, but her stubborn and competitive nature make her often think she's being outdone by Pinkie Pie's cakes. Nevertheless, their rivalry is somewhat friendly and they share a genuine, if sometimes vitriolic from Applejack's side, friendship :D
