The following story written by @pixelpallet6
Just before they could hook the batteries up to the machine, the ponies and critters were attacked by Experiment 1188. Rainbow Dash saw that Kickin’ was faceplanted on the floor and quickly swooped him up just before they saw the room filling with red smoke. “Oh no,” Dash gasped.
Kickin’ groaned as they both looked around, trying to see through the smoke. “Bobby? Bubba? Girls?!” he cried.
Rainbow tried using the wind from her wings to fan the smoke away from them as Kickin’ saw something shining through the smoke. It looked like a pair of eyes, belonging to something big.
“Dude, look out!” Dash looked behind her and darted out of the way before Catnap could pounce at them. The BBI critter’s movement caused some of the red smoke to clear and allowed the pony and chicken to see an important tool on the ground, a grab-pack.
“There’s that over-complex backpack,” Dash proclaimed.
“Grab it!” Kickin’ cried. The rainbow-maned pony did so, snatching up the tool, which the critter riding on her back quickly put on. “Okay, now how do I work this thing?” Kickin’ fiddled around a little bit before he launched one of the hands. It made a clunk as it hit something, but didn’t grab it.
Then the two heard some sparking noises. Through the red smoke, they could see something green and glowing. Kickin’ then remembered the green hand being able to conduct electricity and got an idea. “Let’s give this cat a real shock!” he proclaimed.
“What are you talking about?” Dash questioned. She was trying her best to keep fanning the smoke away. Kickin’ quickly explained his idea to the pegasus, who knew they had to take out Catnap before he took them out.
They would fly close to the green glow, with Kickin’ using the green hand to get some electricity. He made sure that the hand was held onto until the entire part started to glow. “Is that thing ready yet?” Rainbow questioned.
“Just a little more,” Kickin’ remarked. Soon, the hand began to spark as they finally pulled it back, nearly overloading with electricity. They heard a roar as Catnap came out of the smoke.
Dash bolted out of the way to avoid getting hit, landing on the floor, and blowing most of the smoke out of the way. “Take this!” they cried. The green hand was launched at the BBI experiment, who looked in horror as he knew what was going to happen.
