While Equestria was known for its power armor and sentinel bots, the Zebra Empire had a dramatically more robust technological base. To make up for lacking numbers, Zebras fielded tremendous numbers of spider tanks and combat robots, so much so that Equestria was forced to develop the Anti-Machine Rifle. The very same rifle that would be reverse-engineered by the Zebras to counter Steel Rangers.
