This is a remake of a drawing from 2020, uploaded just at the start of 2021 (viewable in the links). While fine for my skill level at the time, I find there to be no comparison between that one and this one four-five years later.

Of the CMC girls, the only one with easy hair to draw is Apple Bloom. While I'm more competent now, back then, I struggled with both Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle. I knew I wanted to redesign the latter to have easier hair to draw. It might stray too far from what people like, which is fair. But I find this much easier to put together than her weird official curls.

The greater detail on her outfit is obvious. Not only that, but her proportions are thicker. She is one of those characters I randomly gave a mark to on the bottom of her foot, so that has to be maintained. It's the principle.

I'd say the environment got the bigger upgrade. Even with just a single picture frame and a ground texture, the location feels fuller. The water basin is better drawn, and I always like to work with transparency effects like glass. There's not a single element I prefer in the original, other than maybe the fact there was a Dirty variant where the water blackened.

But even here, I think the new Stinky variant is a good replacement. There's still a little dirt on there for you dust-munchers, and we get to hear her describe her pungent aroma.
