Vinyl Scratch has always been a whirlwind of energy! Vibrant, bold, and unapologetically themself. Yet, upon first meeting them, many assume they’re a quiet, introverted pony. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Vinyl simply lets their music speak for them.

Though they’re selectively mute, nopony really knows when or why they made that choice. Around the same time, they also began going by they/them pronouns, something they’ve never explicitly explained, but those who know them well understand it as just one more way Vinyl redefined their identity on their own terms. What ponies do know is that there’s something magnetic about their presence. Others often find themselves opening up without thinking, rambling on while Vinyl listens with quietly. They’re just that good of a listener.

Under the name DJ Pon-3, Vinyl skyrocketed to fame as one of the most electrifying and unforgettable DJs in all of Equestria. Their tour schedule was packed, their sets legendary, and their energy seemingly limitless. But the constant travel and pressure eventually took its toll.

Seeking clarity and a creative reset, Vinyl returned to their roots in Ponyville to elevate their sound. While they haven’t made a full return to the stage just yet, locals often see them mixing in the park or experimenting at home.

Now living with a new roommate, Octavia Melody, Vinyl’s musical journey might be heading toward something even greater, if they can find a way to truly connect.
