The Undersea Realm - Equestria Expanded Map
Final version of the first part of my story, exploring the adventures of Tempest Shadow as she journeys back to the lands of the Storm King to make amends what the actions she did under his command. Map art design by the wonderful and super talented Gray--Day.

The races will be posted as done, but I'm planning on making a world just as deep as the overland Equestria (which has dragons, ponies, yaks, griffins, etc). The Undersea Realm - also known as the Coral Kingdom - is a massive area occupying the seas between the southern Equestria continent and the lands of the Storm King (which officially is placed to the southwest of Mount Aris). Below is some info on the various fiefs that comprise the Kingdom.

1. Aquastria - Officially depicted in the MLP Book "Under the Sparkling Sea", this is the seat of King Leo, cousin of Princess Celestia. It is from here that the King rules over the many fiefdoms that make up the Coral Kingdom.

2. Hippogriffia / Seaquestria - Officially depicted in the MLP Movie, this is the home to the Hippogriffs and Seaponies. Queen Novo rules from here and protects her subjects with the vast power of her navy.

3. Duchy of Canterbury (aka Coral Castle) - Home to the knightly Seahorses, these brave knightly warriors serve the Lady of the Lake (whose Sanctuary can be seen along the shore). One of the most numerous armed factions in the Realm, they also man and patrol the cliffs near the Lightless Trench, keeping the dark and scary things that go bump in the night from getting loose in the world.

4. The Lightless Trench - Patrolled by Queen Novo's Navy and whose periphery is guarded by the Knights of Canterbury, many dangerous creatures of malcontent live in the endless darkness of the trench. The most feared is the Eclipse Serpent, a massive and shadowy serpent that absorbs all light in its vicinity.

5. The Moonpool Acropolis - Sheltered near the center of the Realm, the greek-inspired Lamia live here. Powerful magic users, they are lead by the Gorgon, a lamia of potent magical power.

6. The Great Kelp Forest - Not much is known of this region, other than the Undeer (play off undine, but depicted as undersea water deer) call this place home. This reclusive species believes in the 'Current', and that all things must flow with the tides. Very shamanistic in nature, their bodies are often adorned with tribal markings and tattoos, and are considered some of the most magical creatures in the Kingdom.

7. The Northern Marches - Home of the beautiful and graceful Mermares, this peace loving race occupies the sandbars and open sea plains near Aquastria. Often holds contests to see who the most beautiful in all the lands are.

8. Rainbow Roche - Home to the giant and mighty 'Peacock Mantis Shrimp', a colored shrimp that is comparable to 'dragons' of the overland world. With immense strength, their punches can easily shatter most objects and foes, though they are a cautious and thoughtful people, always weighing and considering the consequences before taking action. Could be compared to the Ents of Middle-Earth.

9. The Great Blue Hole - A sheltered area of ample sea grass and home to the strong and sturdy Seacows. Comparable to the Yaks of Yakistan, they provide most of the food for the Realm and do much business with the trade port city of Coltstantinople. Famous for their 'cow-at-arms'.

10. The Lonely Gate - A mysterious gate that is magically linked to the far-off lands of Neighpon, the Kirin of Neighpon use the gate to grow and harvest magical pearls in the waters off Equestria, then bring them home to imbue and purify them at their shrines. It is said the Great Pearl that Queen Novo has was a gift from the Empress of Neighpon, as a token of friendship and goodwill.

11. The Grand Duchy of Sirenia - The greatest and most prestigious of the fiefs in the Realm, it is the home of a large contingent of Sirens. Led by the Grand Duchess Mab, Queen of the Sirens, they have an uneasy relationship with King Leo who rules afar from his throne in Aquastria. The Great Opera House of Sirenia is known throughout the lands as some of the best performances one can witness, and is the envy of many.

12. Coltstantinople - Home to the free pegasi, the Emira Cloudia rules from the largest trade hub outside Equestria. Often doing business and serving as a gateway to the cat realms of Abyssinia, much trade in the regions must past through their ports for regions unknown. Unlike Abyssinia, the city was able to hold off the Stormking thanks to the presence of the great Rainbow Fleet (seen docked from the Rainbow Spire that sits at the city center). So frustrated was the Storm King that his armada could not defeat their fleet that he effectively blockaded the city and moved northwards in pursuit of powerful magical artifacts, with the hope of bringing down the city once and for all.
