Okay, so forgive me for all the ones that liked Sparity in my au. I might aim to push Rarity and Luna being an official thing with no Spike involved Ó3Ò. Look, I understand Sparity could work in a story if you write it right (and age up Spike, obviously). And I know “forbidden age gap romances” in general can work, as long as the younger character is already an adult and the older character didn't know the younger character until they were an adult, like Fluttercord. So…

And besides the CMC, later seasons introduced us to other potential love interests for Spike closer to his age, like Gabby and even the Young Six, like Smolder. So, to me, I felt that there was no excuse to keep shipping Spike with someone totally older than him.

Note: Btw, I'm not saying that for those that like Sparity, you're weird or whatever. Again, I can see the appeal in the ship “as long as you write it well/age up Spike”. It's just that over the years I personally gained more of a love for Rarity x Luna and wish I had thought about it before I started publishing my next-gen au publicly. But alas, I had made my DA account when I was a young teen, and I continued to keep the same ships at least for the main 6 to keep it consistent and to not confuse anyone.
