Meet Lumi, one of the official mascots of AuroraFest convention in Saint Ponyburg, Russia!

Our little fishie (but don’t call her that, she’ll get offended!) represents the spirit of the North — cold and unfriendly at first glance, but really warm for those who know and respect her.

When she is in a playful mood, Lumi follows nearby tourist ferries along its wake trails, enjoying the music, scaring some gawking tourists, and cleaning up garbage fallen from their decks. Her scales, shimmering like the aurora borealis, reflect the lights from night venues and restaurants, hiding her sly smile from unwanted attention.

Free-spirited punk who loves and cherishes nature — just ask her about environmentalism, but only if you have a couple of hours for a lecture. Lumi regularly cleans the Neva River from various garbage. She’s not interested in fashion trends at all and makes her clothes and accessories out of whatever comes to her hooves. Lumi gifted her friend Aurora a hoofmade rock pendant, but she still keeps its origin in secret and only smiles slyly — which might be kind of scary at first time — and keeps talking about some cornerstone, huh?

Lumi loves sushi, especially hoof-caught atlantic salmon, yummy! She keeps offering Aurora to taste it, but poor pegasus always turns green and refuses.

The merpony doesn’t really know the urban area of Saint Ponyburg well, except for the canal and river areas, so she always asks Aurora to tell her more about the city and bring some photos, and gets pretty angry if she sees locals mistreating the environment.

Trying to be an activist, Lumi writes speeches and petitions for ecology and makes Aurora listen to them and even share them with others. And if her friend doesn’t pay proper attention, Lumi won’t restrain herself from slapping water with her tail and ruining Aurora’s hairstyle with splashes. Totally an accident, just in a friendly manner!
