It began when the mane six, Spike and the cmc visit the changeling kingdom to had chit-chat with King Thorax. When they arrived, Thorax greet them and glad to see Spike as well. But as they concern about Queen Chrysalis might return to regain the hive because of Starlight Glimmer, Spike and the cmc were aware of this and decide what mean to be done, so they told them about their decision of becoming the metamorphosed changelings, and the mane six, Starlight Glimmer and Thorax agreed but they told them there will be no turning back once the transformation is done.

So Thorax had Pharynx took Spike and the cmc to the cocoon chamber where some of Metamorphosed changelings put some special cream on Spike and the cmc to speed up the transformation. After Spike and the cmc went in the four cocoon before they closed and went into a deep sleep due to the cocoon magic.

A few week has passed, and the four cocoons burst opened. Spike came out as a metamorphosed changeling dragon with his new wings on his back and so is the cmc as metamorphosed changelings with their wings on their back. The mane six and Starlight Glimmer was pleased by this and Thorax promised to them that he and the other metamorphosed changelings will take good care of them and train them in the ways of the changeling.
