Before Scootaloo can explain, a flash of lighting lights up the room and a crack of thunder can be heard. The little filly lets out a squeak of fright before whimpering in fear

Windy: Understanding what's wrong Oh... Are you scared of thunderstorms, honey?

Scootaloo: Nods her head sadly Y-Y-Yes...

Windy: With sympathetic-Feeling sorry for her daughter Awwww..... My poor little angelcake... Why didn't tell me before...?

Scootaloo: Sniffing as she starts leaking tears B-Because...I was f-f-felt t-too embarrassed to tell y-y-y-you... Especially after e-everything you a-and Dad d-d-did f-for me... Sobs a little

Windy: Feeling even more sorry for her child Oh... Places her hooves under Scootaloo's chin Come here...

Windy pulls Scootaloo into a loving motherly embrace. The poor filly cries into her adopted mother's chest

Windy: Softly Scootaloo, there's nothing with being scared... We all get scared of something... Even me and your Daddy...

Scootaloo: Crying B-B-But, I suppose to be a tough filly...

Windy: Shhh.... Even tough little girls know it's wrong to hide their emotions from their families, especially their mommies...

Scootaloo: Still crying But... But... Hiccups But...

Windy: Shhhh.....

Windy then lifts Scootaloo up, holding her up and starts rocking back and forth as she cradles her daughter

Scootaloo: Taken aback-Still leaking tears M-Mom? What are you-?

Windy: Smiles a warm motherly as she continues cradling her adopted filly Shhhh... There, there, my bundle of joy... It's okay, Mommy's here... Mommy's got you...

Windy then starts to sing a beautiful lullaby

Windy: Goodnight my angel,
Time to close your eyes....
And save these questions for another day....
I think I know what you've been asking me,
I think you know what I've been trying to say...
I promised I would never leave you....
Then you should always know,
I never will be far away....

Goodnight my angel,
Now it's time to sleep....

Scootaloo stops crying and smiles as her mom keeps rocking her gently. Windy then carries her to the bed and the two then lay down on the mattress. Windy smiles lovely at the filly on her tummy as she finishes the song

Windy: Goodnight my angel,
Now it's time to dream....
And dream how wonderful your life will be....
Someday your child may cry,
And if you sing this lullaby,
Then in your heart there will always be a part of me....

Windy finishes the song and smiles warmly at Scootaloo. The little filly, now feeling a better, smiled back at her mother

Windy: Smiles sweetly How are you, my gleaming starbright? Feeling better?

Scootaloo: A little...

Windy: Still a little scared?

Scootaloo: Yeah... Smiles But, I feel better knowing that you're here with you.

Windy: Smiles, touched Awww... Dearie, if ever there's a day when we're not together, there's something you must remember.

Scootaloo: Curious What?

Windy: You're braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is...

Windy uses one of her hooves to grab the pink blanket and she pulls over herself and Scootaloo

Windy: Even if we're apart, your father, your sister and me will always be with you.

The light blue mare leans in and gives Scootaloo a kiss on the forehead

Scootaloo: Smiles sleepily Thanks, Mommmy... Lets out a yawn I love you...

Windy: Smiles as she gives Scootaloo another kiss on the forehead I love you too, my little Scootaloo... Good night...

The two then fell happily to sleep

Headcanon:

Scootaloo is adopted by Bow Hothoof and Windy Whistles after her original family pass away.

The events of Season 8-9 (With the exception of The Washouts, Sound of Silence and Best Gift Ever) are not canon.
