‘Just when you think it’s a normal day, it usually isn’t’ That was the motto of the 7 students (plus dog) currently enrolled at Canterlot High said to each other having almost everything thrown at them before hand. Demons, Sirens, Mind stones, time warps, plant magic, mirror magic, yeah you get the picture. Although hopefully things don’t go wrong during the summer out of school and out of the country right?…..Right? Sunset thought this as the girls and company were granted a trip to Egypt by an exchange student of the Saddle Arabian Cultures Academy, only to find out that even in their world their was still some magic left to be discovered.
“Snap out of it Shugahr cube! Open your eyes!” A familiar voice snapped her back to reality as she opened up her eyes to see her friends still huddled together as they watched in horror at their friend change before their eyes. She panicked, pulling and yanking attempting to resist the pull from the bottle she disturbed. “Nnngh, Guys standing back is not going to help.” “We tried,” responded the one with the rainbow hair mentioned as she held a towel to her head “But you’re getting hotter than the sun. Twi, anything in that book of yours know how to get Sunset out of this?” Sunset looked in Twilight’s direction as she saw her bestie flipping through page upon page of whatever books she brought with her only see she was becoming more worried “You’re not helping Rainbow. I just need more time to find out what’s going on.” “More time? You barely found anything with the past seven books!” Rainbow yelled as the three of them were currently bothered by the predicament of Sunset, Fluttershy was cowering behind Twilight, Rarity laying flat on the dune passed out from the heat of the day and Pinkie…attempting to roast marshmellows with Sunset’s newfound heat whilst wearing a heat proximity suit. “Well duh, what did you expect? A welders mask and a pair of oven mitts?”
Sunset would have eye rolled at the statement pinkie made if she were not fighting to regain her freedom only to hear the whispering voices in her ear again “…Daughter of Ra…the great sun.” ‘not again’ she thought only to then hear them again “…Daughter of Ra, Priestess of Aten. May your light shine in the sky over the old kingdom. May your radience be praised by its people. And may your light shine and bask over the Nile.” After the voices faded into nothing but a raspy death rattle, she would find that her body felt heavy but light. She felt like the heat she was producing diminished as if her transformation was at its end, hoisting herself up as she held her head thinking she just passed out with rarity “Ugggh, What’s…what’s going on?” Her gaze reached that of Twi and her friends, jaws apparently dropped as the couldn’t help but stare “Did a camel just…spit on me or sumthin?” “Ah…Don’t know how to tell you this shugar cube but…Ah think that…Ya might need ta…mm…look at yourself.”
Sunset’s eyes grew wide as she heard AJ speak only to dare and peek a glance at what she had become only to then see that her garb had changed drastically as well as her entire body. The gold jewelry fitted to her person, the ornate jewel encrusted in the scarab wrap around, the silk clothing that stuck to her body, and the unmistakably orange crystal gel tail that swayed and furled into a glass bottle…that she uncorked. Her expression noted fear, panic but then as soon as it set in, she gave one moan before fainting

Absolutely loved making this piece even if I lost sleep for it. Wanted to celebrate EqG’s 10th anniversary and did it in the nick of time too! I would love to thank hachimitsu-ink Sensei for their lovely work/renditions and also for being the muse for this piece. Perhaps if people like this premise I could draw a series of pictures? I dunno, maybe commission but again I dunno.
