"Silence!" Grim's horn flared up in a bright orange light. "The spell is relatively simple, once the corpse is alight I utilise the magic written in this scroll and repeat an incantation."

She put the lit match to the deceased zebra's remains, setting it aflame. The damp swampy air felt warmer as the fire grew in strength, whilst a malicious grin found its way onto her face.

A burst of magic shot out of her horn and into the scroll, which caused the centuries-old paper to shine with shimmering golden light. Then, the light's golden hue turned blood red, as bizarre spectral energy shot out of the paper and into the corpse, causing its legs to twitch for a moment. The zebra raised its head as its eyes began to glow a similar shade of red.

"Yes, yes!" Grim raised a foreleg in excitement.

A sudden burst of wind blew through the swamp, filling her and the rat's ears with noise. While neither of them could hear over the howling wind, both thought they could hear the deceased zebra moan.
