In my mlp headcanon there is only 2 alicorns - Celestia and Luna(just like Lauren Faust intented in a first place), and there is a group called CUU - Celestia’s Unicorn Union. It includes extremely talanted unicorn, like Twilight, Cadance, Sunset Shimmer and others. Their main goal is to protect Equestria in their own way - learning how to raise sun and moon together, how it was in old Equestria, to keep the balance in case if something happens to the princesses and, of course, to use their powerful spells in order to protect everypony(ha i said it).
