This is quickly rocketing up my lists as one of my all-time favorite pieces that I commissioned from Inuhoshi-to-darkpen

This is Fancy Pants if he was the Strongest Pirate in the World of One Piece, Edward Newgate. Or, as he's better known, Whitebeard, the first Emperor of the Sea.

I've gotten back into One Piece in a big way, even before the release of the quite excellent live action adaptation. And the Whitebeard Pirates are my all-time favorite pirate crew in One Piece, with Pops himself being my favorite character (tied with his First Division Commander, Marco the Phoenix).

Fancy Pants meanwhile is one of my favorite minor recurring characters in Friendship is Magic. He's one of the few Canterlot ponies who isn't a useless snob trying to ingratiate himself with whatever is popular or flatter the princesses to try to get ahead. He's actually prepared to call out a princess when she's out of line. Between that and his adorable mustache, I couldn't help but want to see him as my favorite pirate in One Piece.

In my Dashverse series of MLP fanfiction, I was toying with the idea that Fancy Pants actually had a very adventurous youth before settling down and becoming the most important pony to know in Canterlot high society. He was the Alabaster Adventurer, who taught a young Daring Do the ropes of adventuring, who was once ponynapped by pirates and ended up becoming their captain, who undertook many adventures and expeditions on behalf of Queen Celestia.
