-mysterious and beautiful, their dark coat and striking eyes leave many ponies feeling awestruck
-Luna was born as a pegasus, she is considerably younger than Celestia, being approximately 2,000 years old. She remembers much more of her youth than her sister.
-became an alicorn after sacrificing themself to keep the moon, then a meteor, from striking the planet. They are connected to the moon, and use their magic to keep the moon in its artificial orbit. She is not a true immortal like Celestia, and can be killed. Being banished to the moon was supposed to kill her, but celestia would never admit this.
-she got her cutie mark when she became an alicorn, and her talent is to keep the moon in orbit. She is the only pony whose cutie mark naturally changed, when she returned from the moon, the stars appeared alongside her crescent moon. her cutie mark creeps down her legs and the stripes shimmer in the light like luster-dust
-created the batponies, moonicorns, and thrace ponies during her time as nightmare moon. she shows traits from all three groups, and feels kinship to them all. she refers to them as her brood, and visits their villages often.
-is married to tempest shadow, her former lady in waiting. They have one child together, a moonicorn.
