After the fight with her mother, Azalea packed a few things, and took the first train out of Ponyville. She had no real idea where to go, and just sat on the train until the line ended, leaving her at the connector station at the edge of the frozen north. With nowhere else to go, she got on the next train and went to the Crystal Empire.

1) I wanna pierce my tongue it doesnt hurt it feels fine After finding a job and place to live, Azalea, like many others with depression, started getting into body-mods. She started with her star ear cutout when she was still living at home, and within a few years shes got a couple piercings and a very extensive tattoo collection.

2) Enter: Black Quartz. I adopted this girl from my buddy owlcoholik <3

-born in the crystal empire to some randos. Her family were all jewelers so their daughter being a body moder and tatto artist was a bit of a shock, though that are quite supportive.
-Her special talent is tattooing, she probs got her cm after giving herself a stick-and-poke in high school or something.
-She and Azalea met when Azalea came into her shop for a tattoo, and the rest is history :3

3) workin on the sleeve, or i guess sock since its her back leg lol. Tattoos for ponies are a little more complicated than tats on humans. Since ponies have a coat of fur rather than exposed skin, tattoos have to be a little creative. In history, many ponies would decorate their bodies with precise shaving and sometimes branding, but after many years of engineering the tattoo gun was invented. Today, tattoos work by injecting a potion into the skin that permanently changes the color of the hair follicles on a pony's body. These potions sometimes have other properties, such as glowing in the dark or changing the texture of the fur. Tattoos are painful for ponies, but not nearly as painful as on a human since ponies have thicker skin and the needle does not need to penetrate as deeply.

4) lovebirds <3 this specific drawing is REALLY OLD and i did it way back in the fall when i first adopted black quartz. Ive been sitting on it until now and my style has changed a lot and i dont really like this doodle as much anymore but i couldnt just not post it. Black Quartz, or Blackie, and Azalea really do love one another and live together in the crystal empire. Azalea wants to go home and bring Blackie to meet her family, but shes afraid that Applejack still thinks that Azalea is a failure, and that coming back home only to leave again will only lead rift between them to grow larger.
